PAUL NOLAN ROGERS, 84, of Little Rock, passed away December 13, 2018. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 5, 1934 to Cloys and Ona Rea (Beeson) Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents; step- father, Carl Elridge; son, Paul Rogers Jr. "Buster". He is survived by four daughters, Karen Akins (Bill), Pamela Smith, Cheryl Yarbrough, Kim Thomas (Clyde), and one step- daughter, Joni Yarnell; two sisters, Diane Mayernick and Janice Taylor (C.D.); brother, Billy H. Rogers (Barbara); nine grandchildren; fourteen great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. Paul retired from Western Electric, and worked for Pulaski County Probation and Parole. He was always a good steady working man when he wasn't chasing a golf ball. Paul had been a friend of Bill W. for 48 years. Two other friends were brothers Benny and Doyle. Sometimes late at night, Paul and Doyle would sit by the creek and harmonize to good ole Gospel songs while Leo strummed his guitar. Benny and rest of the gang knew they couldn't sing so when they weren't pushing each other into the creek, they sat around and meditated on life. When Paul and his brother Billy got together they enjoyed telling old stories about themselves and people they knew. Some were serious but most were silly! The last thing Billy said to Paul in hospice was, "Do you want to climb Pinnacle Mountain this afternoon?" Paul answered, "No, because I already climbed it this morning." Paul has now climbed the highest mountain of all- the stairway to HEAVEN. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
