Harold Dwane (H.D.) Luter, age 82, of Atkins, died Sunday, February 18th, at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was born June 12, 1935, son of the late Rue Luter and Alma Frost. He worked for 37 years for the Arkansas State Police. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Atkins, a long-time Brother at the F&AM Masonic Lodge #274 in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Theron Luter. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Glenda (Anderson) Luter; eight children, Brenda (Alan) Reynolds and Vickie Luter of Atkins, Jana (Gene) Fitch of Dallas, Texas, Scott (Shari) Luter of Morrilton, Ron (Kim) Eoff of Russellville, Gloria (Steve) Woodall of Pittsboro, Ind., Tracy (Tim) Essary of Aurora, Mo. and Wendell (Denise) Eoff of Farmington, N.M.; 12 grandchildren, Rowdy Sweet, Mandy Darter, Hannah Fitch, Trey Fitch, Blake Waters, Courtney King, Ben Eoff, Crystal Sanderson, John Cole, Lacey Hines, Josh Eoff, and Joe Eoff; 2 brothers, Rue and Jamie Luter of Germantown, Tenn., and Steve and Sue Luter of Bangor, Michigan; many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, February 23, at Atkins First Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Simmons and Blake Wilson of the Pope County Sherriff's Office officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites by Russellville Lodge #274 is in Ball Hill Cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Lemley Chapel. Pallbearers are Rowdy Sweet, Parker Sweet, Trey Fitch, Blake Waters, Randy Millikin, and Captain Dale Saffold.
