Joyce Nadine McGee Scott, 81, of Clarendon, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Baptist Health Medical Center Stuttgart. A daughter of Clotus and Lola McGee, Joyce was born November 3, 1936 in DeValls Bluff, Ark. She was married 57 years to John E. Scott and was blessed with two children, Tami Gaye and K. Eddie Scott. They co-owned and operated Scott's Garage and Auto Parts, Inc. and Scott's Wrecker Service in Clarendon until retiring in 1998. She was a long-time member of the Clarendon First Baptist Church, and gave her time to various committees as well as teaching her granddaughter's Sunday School class. Joyce was an active member in the community, and served on various advisory boards and committees in Clarendon and around the state. "Granny", as she was known, loved nothing more than spending time spoiling "her girls" and later her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John and beloved daughter, Tami. She is survived by her devoted son, Eddie (Jackie) Scott of Stuttgart; two grandchildren, Leah (Hunter) Carter and Kelsey (Clay) Abel both of Stuttgart; and seven great-grandchildren; Finley and Camille Carter, Maddox, Beckett, and Bella Kate Jessup, and Katie and Maggie Abel. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, at Clarendon First Baptist Church with services following at 2 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Morgan and the staff of Chambers Nursing home in Carlisle for their loving care of our Granny.
