Susan Stephenson Pemberton

Susan Stephenson Pemberton, age 62, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 3, 1956, to Doyle and Robbie Stephenson. Susan earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Arkansas in 1981. She taught kindergarten at West Fork Public Schools, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 1981. Susan also worked as an early childhood specialist at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and as a teacher at Butterflies and Frogs Preschool. Susan was also accepted into the PhD program in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Arkansas. As a graduate assistant, she taught developmental reading, educational practicum, and oversaw student teachers. In March of 1994, Susan's life was changed forever when she became the mother of triplet daughters, Flaura, Penny and Jaden Pemberton. Her daughters were the lights of her life and made her proud every day. In their words: "Thank you mom for teaching us to sing in the morning and snuggle at night. Thank you for teaching us to be silly and to always hold the hand of our neighbors." Susan, a single mother, raised her girls to be compassionate, giving, loving, fun-spirited, hard-working, and respectful to all. Flaura, Penny and Jaden are Susan's legacy and there could be no greater legacy than leaving the world with these three wonderful young women, who are loved by and a blessing to all who know them. Susan is also survived by three brothers – Mike Stephenson and his wife Dalene; Bob Stephenson and his wife Carol; and Robin Stephenson – as well as a nephew, Casey Stephenson, and two nieces, Carrie Gray and Nina Rose Stephenson.
