It was a trip to the Emerald City for those attending Evolve: A Night in Oz on Jan. 23 at the Statehouse Convention Center. Lighting transformed the walls of the Wally Allen Ballroom a glowing emerald green for the Centers for Youth and Families fundraiser. Some of the guests got into the Oz spirit by wearing green ties, green dresses or ruby red shoes.

The threat of a winter storm didn't keep devoted fans of historic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs from attending the Architects & Blueprints VIP Gathering at the Cultural Center inside the Ozark Bathhouse. The event was a kickoff party by the Friends of Hot Springs National Park for its capital campaign to raise funds to restore the Maurice Bathhouse.

BARD BALL: Fundraising role

CONWAY -- The Bard Ball, an annual fundraiser for the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, took the stage Jan. 16, literally. For the first time in its 10-year history, the ball went off at the acting company's home at Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas and guests enjoyed a buffet, music and seating at tables on the stage.
