When determining where funding will go for the improvement of train crossings, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department turns to its in-house hazard ratings for each public crossing, a formula that includes the number and types of tracks, as well as the frequency of crashes over the past 15 years. Below is a list of the 10 most hazardous crossings in the state, based on those ratings.
