Jonesboro man killed when car overturns multiple times

A 28-year-old Jonesboro man was killed late Sunday when his car overturned multiple times in a curve in Walnut Ridge, authorities said.

DeAngelo D. Scales was driving a 2011 Ford Focus south on U.S. 67 shortly after 11:30 p.m. when the car "failed to negotiate a curve" on the off-ramp to U.S. 63 South, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

The Focus overturned multiple times, and Scales died at the scene, police said.

Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

The death was the 72nd fatality in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year and the third reported Sunday in the state, according to preliminary figures.
